“Rare” is an MM2 item category, but it does not mean every blue-tier weapon has a high trading price. Many current-box Rares have little standalone value, while older Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s, and promotional items can be valuable because their supply is permanently limited. For lower-value trade adds, compare the Uncommon values and Common values lists too.

Why can an old Rare be worth more than a Legendary?
The blue Rare label does not place a fixed ceiling on value. An old event Rare can have a permanently limited supply and active collector demand, while a current-box Legendary item may be easy to obtain. Traders therefore compare the history, availability and demand of the exact item rather than assuming every Legendary must be worth more.
Why is Cane Knife (2018) valuable?
Cane Knife (2018) was a Tier 30 reward from the 2018 Christmas event and can now be obtained only through trading. Its limited event supply and collector demand give it much more value than an ordinary box Rare. Check the full item name carefully because Cane Knife (2018), Cane 2018 (Gun) and the older Cane gun and knife are different items.
Are current-box Rare items useful as trade adds?
Yes, but their individual value is usually small because players can still obtain many of them from boxes. Several Rares may help balance a close offer, especially for beginner trades, but quantity does not automatically create strong demand. Compare the requested add with current Rare and Uncommon values instead of counting every item as equal.
How do I confirm the correct Rare gun or knife before trading?
Match the complete name, item type, image, event year and origin shown on this page with the weapon inside the trade window. Similar names can belong to separate gun and knife versions with very different values. If a year appears in the name, confirm it as well; never rely only on the colour or the first word of the item name.
