MM2 All Weapons & Rarity Tiers Explained
Murder Mystery 2 has grown to feature hundreds of knives and guns spread across nine distinct rarity tiers. This guide breaks down every tier from lowest to highest, what makes each one valuable, and example items so you can place any weapon you own — or want — into context before you trade.

The Rarity Hierarchy
Tier Breakdown
Unique
Rank 1 of 9 · RarestThe highest tier in the game. Unique items are almost always awarded rather than purchased or traded freely, which makes them the rarest category by design. Most are untradeable or exist in extremely limited circulation.
Chroma
Rank 2 of 9Chroma weapons feature an animated, color-shifting visual effect that makes them instantly recognizable in any lobby. They combine extreme rarity with consistently high demand, which keeps them at the top of the tradeable market.
Ancient
Rank 3 of 9Ancient weapons are no longer obtainable through normal gameplay, which fixes their supply permanently. Because no new copies can enter circulation, any spike in demand pushes values up immediately — making this tier more volatile than Godly, despite sitting one rank above it.
Godly
Rank 4 of 9 · Most actively tradedGodly is the tier most players actually trade day-to-day. It’s rare enough to carry real value but common enough that there’s a liquid market — new Godlies are added with most major updates, keeping this tier the most dynamic on the value list.
Vintage
Rank 5 of 9Vintage covers older, discontinued items that predate more recent game systems. Their value tends to come from age and nostalgia rather than current in-game utility or active demand.
Legendary, Rare, Uncommon & Common
Ranks 6–9 of 9These four tiers make up the bulk of the game’s items by count, but carry the least trade value. Most are earned through regular gameplay rather than events or limited releases, so supply is effectively unlimited. A handful of standout Legendary items hold modest value; Rare, Uncommon, and Common items are generally not considered tradeable in any meaningful sense.
Weapon Types by Role
MM2 splits weapons into two functional categories tied to in-game roles, on top of the rarity tiers above.
| Weapon Type | Used By | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Knives | Murderer | The most commonly collected category — most rarity tiers release knife variants first. |
| Guns | Sheriff | Fewer guns exist per tier than knives, which can make matching gun variants slightly scarcer. |
| Bundles | Either role | Pair a knife and gun (sometimes with a bonus effect), usually released for seasonal events. |
| Pets | Any role | Cosmetic only — tracked separately on most value lists since they don’t affect gameplay. |
How Rarity Affects Value
A weapon’s tier sets a baseline expectation for value, but it isn’t the only factor. Two items in the same tier can trade for very different amounts depending on how many copies exist, how actively the community wants them right now, and whether they’re still obtainable in-game. This is why an Ancient item can sometimes be worth less than a high-demand Godly, even though Ancient ranks higher on the hierarchy.
As a rule of thumb: fixed-supply tiers (Unique, Chroma, Ancient, Vintage) tend to see sharper value swings, since no new copies can enter circulation to balance out demand spikes. Ongoing-supply tiers (Godly and below) usually see steadier, more gradual value changes, since new items are regularly added through updates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Murder Mystery 2 has grown to feature several hundred knives and guns combined, spread across nine rarity tiers, with new items added through regular seasonal updates.
Unique is the rarest tier. Most Unique items are awarded rather than earned through trading or purchase, so very few are ever in circulation among players.
Ancient items are no longer obtainable through normal gameplay, which permanently fixes their supply. Because no new copies can be added, any shift in demand has an outsized effect on value compared to tiers where new items keep entering circulation.
Pets are typically tracked on a separate value list from weapons, since they’re purely cosmetic and don’t follow the exact same tier structure. Most value-checking tools, including weapon-focused ones, list pets in their own category.
