MM2 Vampire Gamemode Explained: How to Play & Win
Vampire Hunt gives you 3 vampires, 3 hunters, and a lobby of villagers in a 24-player server, and the vampires can turn into bats and fly for 10 seconds. The mode launched with the Halloween Event 2024, returned in 2025, and is back again for the 2026 event, which is live now. This guide explains the full rules for each role, the exclusive rewards, and the strategies that actually win rounds.
What Is Vampire Hunt?
Vampire Hunt is MM2’s Halloween event gamemode, first released on October 16, 2024. It plays on a single dedicated map, Vampire’s Village, with double the normal server size: 24 players instead of 12. There is no map voting and no results screen after rounds.
Roles are assigned at the start of each round. Three players become vampires (the murderers), three become hunters (the sheriffs), and everyone else is a villager (innocents). The vampires win by eliminating everyone before the hunters eliminate them. If all three hunters die, villagers can pick up a dropped gun and become the hero, just like classic mode.

Vampire Rules: Bat Form and Kills
The vampire’s signature ability is bat form. Press Q on PC or tap the bat icon on mobile to transform into a bat and fly for up to 10 seconds. This is your main tool for chasing, escaping, and repositioning, and no other shop abilities work in this mode. The one exception is Ninja, which still makes your kills silent.
As a vampire, play patiently. With only three of you against twenty-one others, running in swinging gets you shot. Key tactics:
Strike during chaos. Kill when villagers are clustered or distracted, then bat away before hunters can line up a shot.
Save flight for escapes. Ten seconds of flight gets you across the map, but wasting it on offense leaves you grounded when a hunter appears.
Target hunters first. Every dead hunter is one fewer gun on the map. Villagers without guns are harmless until they grab one.
Use Ninja if you own it. Silent kills hide your position, which matters enormously when three guns are hunting you.
Hunter and Villager Rules
Hunters carry the only guns at round start, and their job is target identification. Anyone could be a vampire, so watch behavior: players isolating themselves, following others, or suddenly flying are giving themselves away. Do not shoot blindly, because a missed shot in a crowd still kills a villager and wastes your leverage.
As a villager, your priorities are survival and information. Stick near hunters without crowding them, call out suspicious players in chat, and if a hunter dies near you, grab the gun immediately. A villager with a gun is the vampires’ worst surprise. Remember that candies spawn around the map during Vampire Hunt rounds, so you can farm battlepass progress even in rounds where you die early.
Rewards: Lantern, Bat Swarm, and Candle
Vampire Hunt has its own elimination-based reward track, earned by getting kills as the vampire:
Villager’s Lantern: 5 eliminations as a vampire.
Bat Swarm effect: 25 eliminations as a vampire.
Candle: 100 eliminations as a vampire.
These rewards are exclusive to the event and cannot be obtained after it ends, which makes them some of the rarest free items each year. The Candle at 100 eliminations is a genuine grind, so start early in the event if you want it.
Winning Strategies: Round-Level Play
As vampire: coordinate with the other two vampires through chat. Splitting up divides hunter attention; converging on the last hunter ends the round. Count the guns: once all three hunters are dead and no villager has picked one up, the round is yours to clean up.
As hunter: stay near at least one other hunter so a vampire cannot isolate you. Keep moving, because a stationary hunter is an easy bat-form target. Shoot only when you are confident, since every villager you kill by mistake is one fewer ally.
As villager: your win condition is staying alive and arming yourself. Memorize gun drop locations when hunters die, and do not be afraid to take the shot if you see a confirmed vampire.
